Photograph Database
The photograph database contains images donated to the York County Library’s Local History Collection by members of the community. They are designated as the following collections: The Carlisle Collection, The Circus Collection, The Creed Collection, The White Collection, and York County, SC Schools. In addition there are photographs not belonging to a “collection”. These include pictures of churches, homes and commercial buildings. To see unidentified photographs, enter “unidentified” in the Photograph Database search box. Click on the link to display the picture.
Searching
Search the photograph database using the search box above or click on “Advanced Search” for more options. The search will return any photographs that match the search terms you put into the search box. Use the drop down box in front of the search box to search for matches by title or by words in the photograph’s description.
Contributing
Help us preserve York County History by:
- Lending photographs of historic events, buildings or sites to York County Library to be scanned, digitized and uploaded.
- By identifying some of the unidentified schools and individuals in the database.
